Snake's Revenge (NES) Review

While the NES version of Metal Gear was an inferior version of the MSX original, Snake's Revenge was not based on the real sequel Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Instead they just went on their own, and made some stuff up.

The game is changed a little into a little more action based game. I hear people compare it to Contra, but I wouldn't dare so.

They do add some stealth game-play elements in there though. Though running and gunning while sneaking doesn't make much sense.

Even though I was surprised about how close it really was to the old Metal Gear games, it's still pretty awful. The controls are junk, and I coudln't get very far before a search light barely got me or a squad of guards pop-up and gun me to death. I can understand why Konami pretends like this game never existed.

Score: 2 out of 10
