Glenn Beck Boycotts Levi Jeans

So a recent Levi commercial has gotten the insane-conservative radio show host outraged. Why? Because it showed a bunch of calm teenagers who look like they might rebel. He compared the ad to Progressivism and European Socialists marching. I compare the ad to random images to appeal to hipster teenagers. But the damage is done and Beck will never buy a single pair of pants again. At least from Levi Jeans.

""I love Levi’s. Never again, Levi’s, never again will you get a dime from me. I know you’re not disappointed. Never again. I won’t wear your stupid red tab."

I really think this a ploy from him to get more attention after Fox News cancelled his show and sent him the paid-internet subspace of webshows.

Gov. Rick Perry Calls Obama "Socialist"

Like all stupid conservatives who want to sling mud at Obama, Rick Perry has called Obama a socialist for the first time publicly that I know of since he threw his name in the presidential ring. It comes from a recent Time magazine interview.

Time: Now that you’ve been in the race for while, do you feel pressure to temper some of your rhetoric, like calling the Obama administration socialist?

Rick Perry: No, I still believe they are socialist. Their policies prove that almost daily. Look, when all the answers emanate from Washington D.C., one size fits all, whether it’s education policy or whether it’s healthcare policy, that is, on its face, socialism
.

Oh god, do I hate people who throw around the word Socialism and don't even understand what it means. Not like Obama does anything even remotely progressive anymore since the Republicans took over the House of Representatives. Rick Perry is a liar and con-artist.

My Thoughts on the Presidency of Warren G. Harding

Warren G. Harding became our 29th President after a landslide victory.

He was the first President to really reform budgeting and accounting. I believe since Harding, every year a President presented a budget to Congress. Which was a good move I think.

Bad fate seem to hit Harding pretty early in his term. People were coming home from World War I and the wartime economy had some trouble transferring over to a peacetime one. Harding was credited to solving the depression that followed by cutting the high taxes to fund the war.

Despite being rather conservative, he did spend a bit more than you might think. He gave money to build highways, knowing full-well the advantages of the "motor car" to the American people.

He was rather unhelpful towards labor though. When strikes came out they usually were met with Federal force and unlike previous times the government was behind business not the workers.

Ironically he was responsible for the first major social-welfare act in American history. A program for pregnant women and sick children. Or as the Republicans would call it today as "Socialized Medicine".

I give him respect for releasing many Socialists, Communists, and Anarchists who were imprisoned during the first Red Scare. Freedom of Speech comes first and that's what he did!

During his term, he had many scandals plague his office. One of them being the Teapot Scandal among many others. Most of these scandals were people under him using their role in government to get rich. Perhaps the first major case in modern American history of such a plague of corruption and money.

Shortly before his first term was up, Harding died of unknown causes. His wife might have killed him by poison, or he might of died of stroke or heart attack. It was quite a strange case, maybe a bigger mystery than the "Who really killed JFK?" theories. His wife did tried to burn many of his Presidential papers to "protect his legacy" or something. What did Harding do behind the backs of Americans? The world may never know.

I don't have too many hard feeling towards Harding. I admit he did a lot of good things, and did a lot of things in such a short time. He may not have been a great president due to scandals, but I wouldn't call him bad.

Fact of the Day: Win War, Lose Power

Winston Churchill was one of the greatest wartime leaders in history. However support for him might of been high, but his party lost the majority in the general elections. Thus costing him his role as Prime Minister.

He was replaced by Clement Attlee of the Labour Party.

People I Hate: Todd Akin

The Republican Tea Bagger congressman is dumb as a sack of rocks.

He can't even do the Socialist-created Pledge of Allegiance right.

He also makes up and re-writes history. Pilgrims fled Europe because of Socialism and apparently over 100 years before Karl Marx was even born. Was this in Back to the Future IV or what?

Fact of the Day: Pledge of Allegiance

Francis Bellamy was a socialist who wrote the Pledge of Allegiance as a tactic to sell schools American flags.

We also used to salute the flag similar to the "Nazi Salute", but that was changed by FDR to a hand over the heart salute.

The under god part wasn't even added in 1954 years after the Baptist Minister who wrote it died.

Fact of the Day: George Orwell Had a Secret to Americans

Orwell the author of the novels Animal Farm, and 1984 was a socialist. He was a member of Britain's Independent Labour Party.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn Charged With Sexual Assault

The French poltician was a possible candidate for the 2012 elections. Now he just got busted for allegedly trying to rape a chambermaid in a New York hotel.

Frankly I don't think it's a big loss for the Socialist Party of France (their more liberal and social democratic, not hardcore socialism as the name would imply), as I think they would do far better with someone like Ségolène Royal. She's pretty hot for someone who's almost 60.

Fact of the Day: Benito Mussolini Was a Ex-Socialist

As a young man Mussolini was a socialist and maybe even a communist. He later turned his back on the far-left, and went far-right, becoming very anti-communist with little tolerance for socialists.
