Such an amazing film, I was shocked to hear it didn't so well at the box office or from critics at first. It actually gained more fame later on. It's based on the classic children's book which I've also read.
I really could identify with Charlie Bucket. His family was far too poor to afford much, especially candy bars.
His grandparents share a small bed which they haven't left in decades. I'm not asking who cleans those sheets.
So Charlie dreams about winning a trip to see Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and free candy for life.
You feel a great sense of pride once Charlie finds the last golden ticket.
Grandpa Joe was pretty cool.
Augustus Gloop was fat and annoying, and he had it coming to him.
Veruca Salt was by far the most annoying child in the book and the movie. Rich and doesn't deserve a penny of her daddy's money.
I feel kind of bad for Violet Beauregarde and her blueberry self.
Mike Teevee was alright, and he got turned super small. Which makes me believe that Chocolate factories are instant death traps. Especially when you throw yourself into untested machinery. Always a keen plan.
The Oompa-Loompas were awesome, and their song and dance routines are legendary.
One of the best films ever made, if you don't like it then you hate everything.
