StarFox 64 3D Will Lack Online Multiplayer

The 3DS remake of the N64 classic is shaping up great. However fans of the multiplayer mode better have some real life friends, because online play is being ditched. The reason? Time and costs. Because remaking short games is really that expensive on it's own? Oh well, I thought the multiplayer in the original was mediocre anyway.

Things I Like: StarFox Assault

I hated the hell out of StarFox Adventures, but I managed to enjoy my time with StarFox Assault. Is it the greatest StarFox ever? Hahaha no, but it was gold compared to the game that preceded it.

Instead of being a Zelda clone, StarFox Assault puts you back into the Arwing full-time. Most of the missions are fairly decent, but they don't hold a candle to StarFox 64.

The tank parts were okay, I just wished it wasn't so bulky to drive.

The on-foot sections are perhaps the game's biggest fault. They're not "bad", but it just makes me wonder what were they thinking. I like the idea of variety, but if it's going to be this lackluster then they shouldn't have let me out of my Arwing.

I also enjoyed playing the multiplayer mode. Had some good moments against my brother in this one.

Things I Like: Halo: Reach

Halo 3 was a bit of a letdown for me. I played it more than most other games don't get me wrong. However it felt more like Halo 2.5 than a true sequel.

Halo: Reach however goes back to what made the original game so great, but with some of the more modern touches of Halo 2 and Halo 3. It's probably my favorite Halo when it comes to the campaign mode.

I also liked the optional powers as well like jet pack, decoys, and shielding. Gave both the single player and multiplayer modes some variety. Also another way to either unbalance or balance the playing field in multiplayer. Which could go either good or bad.

The only part I didn't care for was the ship combat in the campaign. It was kinda boring, and it sure wasn't no Starfox 64.

As I said before the multiplayer was just as awesome as the games before it. Really need to get back into the game, I bet they probably have some more maps by now.

Things I Hate: Turok Evolution

I never played the N64 games, though I hear they're quite good. Or at least for their time. However for a game that had "Evolution" in the title, this game sure brought the series down to shit.

The graphics ranged from impressive to muddy. Mostly muddy. While the gameplay was shitty, I did respect the variety in weapons. I remember you could also fiddle and change some of the weapons into different modes of shot.

Hated these flying missions. Starfox it's not.

The game held a lot of promise, but the more you play the game is the more you get disappointed by how shitty it is. It's got one weird final boss too.

Things I Hate: StarFox (SNES)

I was never a huge fan of the series besides Starfox 64. But I gave this one a shot, and man it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I think it's main problem is that it's been aging pretty bad over the years. I'm sure it has excellent design, but the graphics look like shit, and the D-pad controls are dreadful. This is one game that needs a good remake.
