Fact of the Day: Netflix Used To Charge Per Movie And Postage
Despite being the king of rental services, Netflix used to be more traditional. When the website first launched in 1998, they charged $4 per movie plus $2 in postage.

I Cancelled Netflix, I'm Now a Member of Blockbuster By Mail
I've used Netflix for a few years, but I'm just tired of their service. With a price jump lurking, I cancelled my membership today. Instant videos were a big plus for me, however I watched too much content and they don't seem to be getting too many new movies up on Instant that appeal to me anymore.
The big reason why I'm switching is for 1. Being able to switch movies in store. 2. You can get video games on the service too but through mail-only. BUMMER. Oh well.

Netflix Can Now Be Played on 3DS
It was something I wished the DSi could do, and now that I have an iPod Touch I don't really have the need for it, but other people might. The service is free (but you need a paid Netflix membership), and the movies are 2D only, but with hopes in the future to make them 3D.

Watched For The Bible Tells Me So
The movie is a documentary about how Christians use the Bible as a weapon of hate against homosexuals. It even goes in to clarify the meaning, translation, and cultural reasoning for what's written in the bible.
The "main family" shown in the film I guess you could say is that of Former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, and his lesbian daughter.
But it gives other people the spotlight including the now openly gay bishop Gene Robinson.
It truly is a great film of peace and understanding. It's on Netflix Instant currently.

Watched A Clockwork Orange
I've heard lots of things about this movie, and didn't know what on earth to expect. It truly is an epic movie with such an imagination and original characters and ideas.
The story is about Alex DeLarge, who is a young hoodlum set on rampaging the British streets at night.
He doesn't even care about his own guys. Only violence, rape, and Ludwig Van Beethoven.
But Alex doesn't just go through psychotic criminal rampages all day. He gets arrested, and then you see him go through "reform". The film is cut into 3 pieces so to speak, and all different with each being as good as the one before it.
It's not for the easily offended by I quite enjoyed it. Currently on Netflix Instant.

Watched Escape From New York
Being made almost a decade before I was born, I never got a chance to watch it until now.
I've heard plenty about the movie, especially all the references Metal Gear Solid makes to it.
The story is set in New York in 1997 where the city has been turned into a prison, and the President is captured within the city, and someone must get him out.
That man is Snake Plissken, who is offered a full pardon from the government if he rescues the President.
He finds out that the President is being help captive by "The Duke" a black asshole who rules the criminal New York City.
Speaking of the President, I really enjoyed his role at the end.
Escape from New York is a unique movie with a fast pace and plenty of action. If you like action movies you'll love this, because this is easily one of the better movies I've seen come out of Netflix instant.

Watched The Guru
I remembering seeing ads on TV when this movie came out, but never got a chance to watch it. However it popped up on Netflix instant.
It's about a young man from India who goes to America to star in movies.
But he learns the hard way, and ends up getting crappy jobs, and ended up in a porno movie he walked out on.
The one thing the movie does well is the style of Indian dancing and music. I loved these scenes.
However the main story of the movie feels a bit shallow and almost stupid. Most of the characters don't have a deep personality and seem a bit inhuman. It does throw a decent joke here and there, but frankly the pace of the movie is too slow to really recommend it to anybody.
