President William Howard Taft was also once a Governor to Cuba and the Philippines. 

My Thoughts on the Presidency of Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson beat out both Taft and Teddy Roosevelt and became our 28th President

Woodrow Wilson was a Democrat after two Progressive Republicans, oddly enough he was a Progressive himself. He oversaw many creations, one of the biggest being the Federal Reserve. He also was pretty good towards worker's rights, and a led a decent fight against powerful corporations. 

He also tried to pass a law that would have almost ended child labor. However the Supreme Court nullified it when it was passed. It would be a few more years until the horrible practice was abolished. 

Easily the biggest part of his presidency was World War I. He tried to stay out of the war, but Germany kept committing small crime after small crime against us. Yet Wilson still tried to keep neutral. 

But sometimes enough is enough, and finally after some time Wilson brought us into "The Great War" against Germany. I have mixed feelings about this, it's good to keep peace but then again I think he waited far too long than he should of. 

Wilson was also pretty shitty when it came to civil rights. I believe he even had some African-American supporters who felt betrayed after he let Southern racists take over the federal government. 

Economically I don't disagree to much with Wilson, Socially however we are total opposites. Good President or bad president? He was flawed, but he did some great things. 

My Thoughts On The Presidency of William Howard Taft

Taft succeeded Roosevelt and became our 27th President. 

Taft kept many of Roosevelt's old polices such as trust busting. However despite progressive thinking, Taft often fumbled in polices, which alienated people in his own party. Not to mention campaign contributors and independents. Even Teddy Roosevelt felt humiliated by his successor. 

He was also another Republican who supported Civil Rights, but did nothing to prevent Southern racists from denying black people the right to vote or from lynching. He did veto a law requiring all immigrants to take a literacy test. That was a good move since immigration is what this country was always made of.  

Taft also saw the passage of the 16th amendment which gave the government a full-right to tax income. Though still controversial today, I consider it a good move. We just need to reform the system today, but that is now, this was back then.

Aside from that, Taft didn't too do terribly much else. A very flawed president in many ways, and even though I consider him a bit of a failure I can still respect his intentions.
