Batman: Arkham Asylum Coming to Mac

Don't have a PC, 360, or PS3, but have a Mac? Well you can buy the excellent Batman: Arkham Asylum for $40 soon. It will be available on October 13th, not long before Arkham City comes out for the other consoles.

My Day Yesterday

Picked my girlfriend up from her house, she has the day off. We bought some groceries at Save-a-lot, and went the library.

Found this while we were there. Haven't watched it yet.

We did watch more Bamboo Blade, very good anime.

I mailed my copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum back in to Blockbuster By Mail. I wonder what they will send to me next?

Then I went to work, sucky day.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

So I've been enjoying this one for quite a few days now, and tonight I finished the whole shebang.

Forget any Batman game you ever played, because they're raw sewage in comparison to Arkham Asylum. Batman and company are re-imagined in a darker tone than some of the past Batman games, films, or cartoons. Kinda how like how Batman Begins, and especially The Dark Knight made the film series much better than the ones in the 90's.

Not only does Batman have all his trademark gear at his disposal, but some of the new high-tech stuff. My favorite tool was detective mode which would let you discover secrets, and see enemy forces before you even reached them.  It allowed a lot of time to plan, and develop a strategy. It also has a ton of secrets. Whoever can discover all the Riddler secrets has no life.

The game has a case of getting repetitive at times, sometimes there's only so many steroid-filled thugs to beat up. However once you start to get a little bored, they throw something to mix things up. My favorite moments were that of the Scarecrow and his fear-gas. Not only were the moments very similar to that of the GameCube game Eternal Darkness, but the boss battles were pretty trippy and very dissimilar to the rest of the game.

It really is one of the best games on the Xbox 360, and easily the best Batman game ever crafted. I can't believe I waited so long to jump on the bandwagon here. Do not hesitate to pick this game up, even if you're not a Batman fan.

Score: 9 out of 10

My Day Yesterday

Woke up late again today, had to wake my girlfriend up for her job that started early so that messed by sleep up as a result.

Went to put my job application in at a place today, got a little pre-interview too. I hope I get a call back.

Got a decent amount of time playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. Managed to finish it after I got home from work. Fantastic game.

Work wasn't so bad tonight, managed to get a lot done.

My Day Yesterday

Woke up rather late today, was pretty tired from yesterday. Ugh, needed to get some stuff done.

I didn't have much time to play Batman: Arkham Asylum. Just got passed the part where you beat up the two thugs that got turned into Titans. Just got a new tool that allows me to go across large gaps. Nifty

Work went alright, same ol' same ol'.

My Day Yesterday

Had to wake early to make sure my girlfriend was up early enough for her to go to work. One of my co-workers is out sick, so I had to work a little tiny shift to somehow satisfy the department. Ugh.

I did get decent time to play Batman: Arkham Ayslum though.

After I picked my girlfriend up from her new job, she made me take her to Wal-mart to get a lunchbox. At least we were at the one on the other side of town that's not that terrible.

We also went to Pizza Inn for lunch/dinner. I got charged the evening or weekend price. I hate that crap.

While picking slices at the buffet, I heard one of the cooks go "There's Justin Bieber", and I thought he was talking about him on the TV or something (there's a few on the walls), but it was actually a customer. The kid really did look like Justin Bieber, it was pretty funny.

After that we went to mall, and while she was shopping I got her gift picked up from Things Remembered. She doesn't like surprises, so I at least told her what store her gift is from.

Then we took a 2 hour nap when we got home. Somehow I felt worse when I woke up. Then I had to drive her home, and then go to bed. I hate that.

My Day Yesterday

I woke up in the morning, and then called my girlfriend to wake her up for work. Went back to sleep, and when I woke up I went to the mall to get her birthday present. Things Remembered kinda messed up my order date, so I have to come back tomorrow. The manager lady said I'd have to wait about 30 mins if I wanted it then.

So I just went to Costco next to the mall to get some gasoline. At least it's going down in price a little bit. Costco always has some pretty good prices on fuel.

Got a lot of playtime with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Love this game, played it for many hours straight.

My day seemed pretty boring until shortly before I went to work. I saw a pitbull near my yard while going out to get the mail, and then went back inside to wait for it to go away. Well... my brother got home shortly after, and there was another pitbull down the street with the other and they had cornered a small cat. We watched in horror as the two dogs ripped the poor kitty apart. It is one of the worst memories I will have for years to come. We called the police, but they didn't do too much against the owner who let two dangerous animals roam free in the street.

So that left me pretty shaken up at work. It took me a lot time to try to get that image out of my head. Work was crap, and I'll probably have nightmares tonight...Oh boy.

My Batman: Arkham Asylum Impressions

I just got it yesterday thanks to Blockbuster By Mail.

I really like the setting of the game. The prison/insane asylum is dark and spooky and filled with chills.

Granted the story and characters are rewritten and re-imagined for the game alone. It's kinda like that new show that came out on the WB except for adults, and this one is actually good.

I'm also digging the game-play. Pretty decent fighting engine, with stealth to boot. Makes you think and plan out attacks. Also let's you upgrade your deadliness. This is one of the first games in a long time where I played it for several hours straight without stopping.

My Day Yesterday

About as soon as I woke up this morning I get a call from my girlfriend. A company asked her to go get an interview and she got hired. She starts this morning actually. I wish her the best of luck.

I'm actually trying to get a new job myself. The job hunt starts again tomorrow.

Found out where the Halloween Express will be in my town this year. I can't wait until it opens.

Also played Tennis and Ice Hockey for NES, and reviewed them both.

Also found my lost pair of headphone buds. Now I can listen to my iPod Touch again.

Blockbuster By Mail also sent me Batman Arkham Asylum for 360 right before I went to work. I wish my house wasn't so dead last on the postal route :( Oh well....
